Pan-Seared Tuna

The true beauty about this meal, is that it only takes 15 minutes to make. If you enjoy fish, this is a very easy recipe and tuna steaks are a nice alternative to chicken or beef. They can be prepared very rare, are easily flavored and they can be grilled or pan seared.


INGREDIENTS


Start to Finish:
15 minutes

Serves: 2

  • 15 green olives, cut in half lengthwise

  • 1 ½ cup garden tomatoes, chopped

  • 5 sprigs parsley, roughly chopped

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 2 6-oz. tuna steaks

  • salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a bowl, mix together the olives, tomatoes, parsley, 2 tbsp olive oil and lemon juice. Set aside.

  2. Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper. Heat the remaining olive oil in a nonstick frying pan, on high. Add the tuna steaks and sear for 1 minute, on one side. Turn the steaks over, reduce heat to medium and cook for about 3 minutes.

  3. Plate tuna and top with olive and tomato mixture.

  4. Serve with a salad and gluten free bread.
