Smooth Dave Hummus

IMG_3216_LR.jpg

SmoothDaveHamm, this hummus is just for you! It’s basic but delicious. If you have extra the time to cook your own garbanzo beans, I would highly recommend it, but if not no worries. I hope you enjoy.

INGREDIENTS

Start to Finish:
10 minutes

  • 4 tbsp tahini paste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2–4 garlic cloves, smashed

  • 4 lemons, juiced (about ½ cup)

  • 2 cups garbanzo beans (if using canned beans, rinse well and drain)

  • ¼ cup water

  • ½ tsp garlic salt

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • zest of 1 lemon, optional

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine tahini paste, olive oil, garlic and lemon juice into a food processor. Blend together well.

  2. Add in garbanzo beans, water, garlic salt, pepper and lemon zest. Blend until hummus is a smooth consistency (2–3 minutes).

  3. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Drizzle with extra olive oil, parsley and serve.

note: you can add a bit of water, or more olive oil if the hummus seems too thick; if it isn’t thick enough add a few more beans until you reach your desired consistency
