Flavored Simple Syrups

From Holiday cocktails, to steaming mugs of tea, Flavored Simple Syrups are an easy way to add a twist to your favorite liquid treat. Very simple to make (as the name implies) these are perfect to brew the week before your next Holiday extravaganza. Store in a lovely glass container and when it's time for Cocktail Hour, enjoy. INGREDIENTS

Rose Hip Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup dried rose hips

  • 1-1/2 cups water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Jasmine Lavender Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup dried jasmine flowers

  • 1 tbsp dried lavender flowers

  • 1-1/2 cups water

  • 1 cup sugar

Hibiscus Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers

  • 1-1/2 cups water

  • 1-1/4 cup sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

Rose Hip Simple Syrup

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the rose hips and water to a boil.

  2. Remove from heat and allow rose hips to steep for 15 minutes.

  3. Strain liquid into a bowl, through a fine sieve. Rinse out saucepan.

  4. Return liquid to the saucepan. Add in sugar, lemon juice, and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes (dissolving all sugar).

  5. Allow syrup to cool and transfer into an airtight glass bottle. Keep refrigerated.
